Red Sox place OF Ceddanne Rafaela (quad) on injured list

Mandatory Credit: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images The Boston Red Sox placed All-Star outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela on the 10-day injured list on Sunday, retroactive to Thursday, with a right quadriceps strain.
Rafaela was out of the lineup for a third consecutive game on Saturday in a 5-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles after exiting a game Wednesday with soreness and tightness in his quad.
Rafaela, 25, has hit .282 with 16 home runs and 70 RBIs in 135 games this season. Over his four-year career, he has a .258 average with 49 home runs and 213 RBIs in 471 games.
Rafaela, from Curacao, was signed by the Red Sox as an international free agent in 2017. He was an All-Star for the first time this season.
In a corresponding move, the Red Sox recalled infielder/outfielder Nate Eaton from Triple-A Worcester.
In 14 games with the Red Sox this season, Eaton, 29, batted .125 with one home run and five RBIs. In 84 games for Worcester this season, he was hitting .253 with nine home runs, 44 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
